Tesla Adds Over 11,500 Supercharging Stations in 2024, Surpassing 67,000 Globally
January 1st news, the year 2025 has arrived, and Tesla has announced a series of significant achievements for 2024, including the rapid development of its supercharging network. Tesla released a series of data on its official X platform (formerly Twitter) under the Tesla Charging account, reviewing the significant progress of the supercharging network over the past year.
Tesla stated that in 2024, the company added over 11,500 supercharging stations worldwide, which is a 19% increase year-over-year, equivalent to an average of about 30 new charging stations per day. Currently, Tesla has over 67,000 supercharging stations globally. Additionally, Tesla added approximately 1,000 supercharging stations in 2024 and successfully entered three new country markets.
In terms of energy delivery, Tesla's supercharging network delivered over 5.2 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity throughout the year, which is equivalent to reducing over 5.5 billion kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions and 2.4 billion liters of gasoline consumption.
Tesla's North American Charging Director Max de Zegher also shared his views on the development of the supercharging network in 2024 on the X platform. He stated that Tesla's charging network has become one of the world's largest corporate energy users, and this is just the beginning. "It's incredible that we added 1,000 charging stations in just one year. Tesla's charging division has become one of the fastest-growing tenants and real estate traders globally. With 5.2 terawatt-hours of electricity delivery (and growing at an annual rate of about 30%), Tesla is also quickly becoming one of the largest corporate energy users."
De Zegher also emphasized the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and gasoline consumption, saying: "Our offset of carbon dioxide and gasoline is encouraging. Currently, the proportion of electric vehicles on the world's roads is less than 5%, and we are just getting started. Thank you for the support of the Tesla community.
