Is the Denza N8 expensive?

After three minutes of contemplation, I gave the most direct answer: Whether analyzed from a historical perspective or from the current competitive product perspective, the price of the Denza N8 is very reasonable.

It can even be said that the Denza N8 only utilizes BYD's technological advantages without excessive premium.

The Denza N8 continues BYD's long-emphasized DM-p technology route. Compared with the DM-i technology route that focuses more on economy, DM-p can better showcase BYD's technological strength.

From the product performance of the Denza N8, its 4.3-second acceleration capability, rich technological configuration, charging and endurance capabilities, have all reached the top level of the market below 350,000 yuan.

As BYD's products mature and systematize, Denza has taken on the task of selling high-end product lines.

The predecessor of DM-p technology was 542, which was BYD's former technology route, with a price of 300,000 yuan at the time. To further showcase the upper limit of hybrid technology, BYD also launched the Tang Speed Edition with a price of 510,000 yuan, whose acceleration performance was very astonishing.

With the iteration of technology, the reduction of costs, and the change of user cognition, the cost of DM-p can be easily controlled within 300,000 yuan, and the performance is even better than the 542 of that year.

It can be said that the Denza N8 is a model with a 4-second acceleration, four-wheel drive, and zero fuel consumption.

Taking the Super Hybrid Flagship Edition with a price of 319,800 yuan as an example, its theoretical range is 216 kilometers. In EV mode, the actual driving capability under any fuel is at least 150 kilometers.

And when power is needed, the engine can respond quickly, accelerating the vehicle within 4.3 seconds, and the stability and grip provided by the four-wheel drive system are excellent in urban and high-speed road conditions.

The pricing of the Denza N8 considers many factors.

On the one hand, it is the technical cost. The Denza N8 uses BYD's most advanced technology matrix at present, including cloud services, shift paddles, intelligent cockpit, autonomous driving, four-wheel drive system, and engine, all of which have high technological content and cost.

On the other hand, in terms of products, the Tang DM-p with the same configuration is priced at 310,000 yuan, while the Denza N8 is superior in size, materials, design concept, and process standards.

In other words, although the Denza N8 benefits from BYD's technology, it does not have much in common with BYD Tang. This is also a highlight of the Denza N8.

The Denza N8 has increased the body size and expanded the interior space, making the driving experience and storage space more outstanding. At the same time, it has adopted a new interior design concept similar to Mercedes-Benz, which has been significantly improved. This will make the Denza N8 very competitive in the 300,000-level SUV market.

To step back, the 300,000-level SUV market is a segment that needs to be reshuffled. In the past, this market was mainly occupied by three models of BBA and luxury brands such as Volvo, Cadillac, and Lexus.

The greatest charm of the electrified era lies in providing models like the Denza N8, which adopts the most advanced technology standards at the time, bringing a brand new way of using cars, technology, electricity, intelligence, and performance are the luxury elements of this era. This is also the reason why the Denza N8 has great potential in the fuel car market.

Therefore, looking back at the pricing of this car, we cannot only look at it from the perspective of BYD. From the perspective of the passenger car market, user needs, and competitors such as BBA, the market appeal of the Denza N8 is very strong.
