On January 18th, at the India 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo, BYD announced the launch of the electric SUV model —— Sealion 7 (export version of the Sea Lion 07 EV), along with other models such as Sealion 6 (corresponding to Song Plus DM-i) and Yangwang U8.The BYD Sealion 7 offers two models, a premium version and a performance version, with four color options available and is now open for pre-order. This model uses an 82.56 kWh lithium iron phosphate low-voltage battery, with a range of up to 567 kilometers and a battery life warranty of up to 15 years / 150,000 kilometers. Regarding this breakthrough, BYD India's National Sales Manager for Passenger Cars, Shrirang Joshi, emphasized the company's achievements in mass-producing this revolutionary battery technology. Joshi said: "The battery introduced by BYD weighs only one-sixth of the traditional LVB battery, and we are proud to be the first company in the world to mass-produce LFP LVB."BYD India has previously launched three electric vehicle models in the Indian market, including the all-new pure electric MPV model BYD eMAX 7, the luxury electric vehicle model Seal (Sea Lion), and the multi-purpose electric SUV BYD ATTO 3 (corresponding to Yuan PLUS).
