Haval M6 to be Produced in Russia
IT Home November 28th news, according to the confirmation from Haval Motor's Russian subsidiary, Haval's crossover M6 will be localized in the "PSMA" factory in Kaluga, Russia, and the assembly work for the first batch has already begun.
Previously, Haval M6 was mainly imported from China and assembled in a small-scale factory in Tula, with limited production capacity. To increase capacity, Great Wall Motors expanded the Tula Auto Plant in March 2024, adding a complete vehicle production line and an engine manufacturing plant. Before this expansion, the price of Haval M6 imported from China to Russia was about 21.79 million rubles (IT Home note: currently about 142,000 RMB). Localized production is expected to reduce the price of Haval M6 in Russia and enhance market competitiveness.
According to Avtostat data, since 2022, the sales volume of Chinese cars in Russia has been climbing, with market share soaring from 9% to 57%. Great Wall Motor's market share is about 13%, with sales volume increasing by 85.6% year-on-year. The market share of European and Japanese and Korean brands has plummeted from 69% to 8.5%.
