Polestar 5 Mid-Size Coupe Spy Photos Leaked, Expected to Feature Ultra-Fast Charging Battery
Foreign media Carscoops reported today that Polestar's first mid-size coupe, the Polestar 5, has been spotted in Scandinavia during testing. Since its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over two and a half years ago, it has yet to be officially released.
The car features a split headlight design with sharp daytime running lights and a small black grille, spoiler, and low hood, adding great visual tension. Additionally, the prototype car is equipped with black wheels and a ceramic brake system, further emphasizing the sense of speed.
The car also has hidden door handles and a large panoramic sunroof that extends to the traditional rear window position, similar to its own Polestar 4.
A few years ago, Polestar announced that the car would be equipped with dual motors, with a maximum output of 872 horsepower and torque of 664 pounds-feet (Note: 900 Nm). Reports suggest that, considering Porsche and Audi have upgraded the power output of the RS e-tron GT and Taycan models, these figures may be slightly adjusted. The car is expected to have a zero to hundred acceleration time of around 3 seconds, or even faster.
Reports also mention that Polestar is testing ultra-fast charging battery technology with StoreDot, which can provide a range of 100 miles (approximately 160.93 kilometers) in just 5 minutes of charging, but it is not clear whether it will be applied to mass-produced models.
