Faulty Tire Pressure Monitoring System Leads to Recall of Nearly 700,000 Tesla Vehicles in the US

Tesla announced on Friday that it is recalling nearly 700,000 vehicles in the US due to problems with the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), as reported by local news on December 20th.

The recall involves certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles, totaling 694,304 vehicles. Tesla plans to address the issue through an Over-The-Air (OTA) wireless update.

According to the recall confirmation notice, the TPMS warning light on these vehicles may not illuminate between two driving cycles, failing to warn drivers of low tire pressure. This could lead to driving on underinflated tires, increasing the risk of accidents.
