William Responds to Controversy Over NIO Firefly's Tri-Eye Headlight Design: No Reference to Apple iPhone Triple Camera Design

On December 23, NIO unveiled its third brand, Firefly, at the 2024 NIO DAY, sparking heated discussions among netizens due to the car's adoption of a triple headlight design. NIO's founder, chairman, and CEO, William, claimed that the car was designed by the Munich Design Center, taking into account the preferences of global users.

During a live broadcast with car reviewer Chen Zhen, William responded to the online rumors that the Firefly's headlight assembly resembled the iPhone triple camera module. They presented an Apple iPhone Pro with a triple camera, and Li Bin cited the phone, saying, 'The Firefly model “really did not reference it (iPhone)” at the time, the designers were not influenced by it,' denying that the design was inspired by the iPhone.
