Redefining Smart Cars with U8's Innovative Technologies

upfile

The U8 has redefined the concept of a smart car in China. Before the U8, the general understanding of a smart car was one equipped with intelligent driving and a smart cockpit, typically featuring millimeter-wave radar, lidar, and an intelligent driving chip.

With the introduction of the U8, the first impression that comes to mind is its ability to 'swim' in rivers and turn around on the spot. However, many are not aware of the less visible core intelligent technologies it possesses, such as its infrared night vision, satellite communication, and the vehicle-mounted drone.

These features, combined with the lidar and intelligent driving chip, have broadened the definition of a smart car in China: It turns out that smart cars can be built and used in such ways.

If the smart car with lidar, millimeter-wave radar, and an intelligent driving chip enhances people's confidence in the vehicle, then a car with added infrared night vision and satellite communication capabilities enhances people's confidence in their own driving.

Adaptive Infrared Night Vision gives more confidence in night driving. The U8's "far and near infrared night vision system" is an intelligent adaptation that can automatically switch between far and near modes based on driving and weather conditions.

The U8's night vision system has a detection range of 300 meters, which is much further than the safety distance of 120 meters at a speed of 120 km/h. This is significantly more than the detection range of about 200 meters for current vehicle lidar and millimeter-wave radar.

Satellite Communication ensures signal coverage even in remote areas. The U8's satellite communication function, developed in collaboration with China Telecom, supports two-way voice calls, two-way text messaging, emergency calls, and GPS/Beidou positioning.

The system's terminal satellite is the "Tiantong-1" satellite mobile communication system. It is designed to be both vehicle-mounted and handheld, allowing for communication even if the vehicle is stranded.

Vehicle-Mounted Drone offers both entertainment and practicality. The U8's drone system is fully automated, from takeoff to landing, with processes controlled via the central control screen or voice interaction. It also has the capability for automatic battery replacement and charging.

The drone is not just for fun; it can also be used for pathfinding and inspection, adding significant practical value to the vehicle's capabilities.

The article concludes by emphasizing the need for more widespread adoption of such intelligent technologies, highlighting other innovative features of the U8, such as the 70-inch AR-HUD that creates a 3D image in front of the driver and the industry-first "Easy Four-Sided Parking" technology.
