Google Android Auto Adds Weather Apps, Allows Users to Understand Environmental Conditions Along Their Route

Google has long had strict control over third-party apps on its Android Auto platform. Now, Google has announced that the platform supports weather apps, making it easier for users to view current weather trends in their area directly from their car's interface. Currently, the Android Auto platform supports nine major categories of apps, including media and audio, messaging, weather, navigation, video, browsers, games, points of interest (POI), and smart home IoT. Google hopes that weather apps will provide users with weather information for their current location or travel route, helping them understand various environmental conditions along the way from one place to another.
