BMW to Collaborate with Leading Chinese Tech Companies on Large Model Generative AI and Intelligent Voice Interaction
BMW Group today announced that the first-ever BMW Panoramic iDrive, initially proposed in 2023, will be released in mass production at the CES show in January 2025.
BMW Group mentioned that the company will work with top Chinese technology partners to cooperate in areas such as large model generative AI and intelligent voice interaction, aiming to bring a "more user-friendly, intelligent, and personalized" in-car digital experience to Chinese customers.
BMW collaborates with Chinese technology companies to optimize voice engine technology, significantly enhancing the information retrieval and system response capabilities of the intelligent cockpit. It expands intelligent application scenarios in voice, navigation, entertainment, and information fields to meet diverse customer needs and provide a more intelligent in-car digital experience.
In addition, BMW has specially customized a unique brand-exclusive voice and a rich local knowledge base for Chinese users, supporting voice search for popular content navigation, flight inquiries, and stock information.
It has been noted that the BMW Panoramic iDrive system, which began heating up in 2023, is BMW's next-generation infotainment system that will provide a brand-new in-car interaction experience for the Neue Klasse series of electric vehicles.
A highlight of the system is BMW Panoramic Vision, which will replace traditional HUD, projecting a 3D image covering the entire screen at the bottom of the windshield, displaying key information such as navigation and speed.
