3-5 Minutes Fast Battery Swap, First Pumped Hydro Storage Heavy Duty Truck Battery Swap Station in China Starts Operation in Nanning, Guangxi
According to official news from PowerChina, the first pumped hydro storage heavy duty truck battery swap station in China has started operation at the Nanning pumped storage upper reservoir project, constructed by the Eighth Bureau of Hydropower under PowerChina, allowing for heavy duty trucks to quickly swap batteries in just 3 to 5 minutes.
The battery swap station is equipped with 1 lane, 5 battery slots, 4 units of 300 kW charging machines, and 20 electric heavy duty trucks, enabling quick battery swaps in 3 to 5 minutes.
After the operation of the battery swap station, it will provide cleaner and more efficient energy supply for the earthwork transportation of the Nanning pumped storage upper reservoir project, saving approximately 680,000 liters of fuel consumption per year, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 1800 tons.
This battery swap station is a collaboration between Southern Power Grid and the Eighth Bureau of Hydropower, and it is the first attempt to apply new energy battery swap heavy duty trucks to solve the construction waste transportation problem at the Nanning pumped storage power station construction site, which is a specific practical application in response to the country's "Dual Carbon" strategy.
