Sony Honda Collaborative Electric Vehicle to Feature Karaoke and Movie Library Viewing Services
Sony Group and Honda's electric vehicle (EV) venture, Sony Honda Mobility, announced on December 16th a collaboration with the integrated media service company, Stingray Group. For the 'AFEELA' model, which will start taking orders in the United States in 2025, they will introduce Stingray Group's karaoke service, which includes over 100,000 songs.

The President and CEO of Sony Honda Mobility, Yasuhide Mizuno, stated: 'Singing favorite songs with passengers during the journey will enrich the experience on the move.'

Sony Honda Mobility announced that to enhance in-car entertainment, they also introduced the RIDEVU movie library viewing service from Sony Pictures Entertainment on December 2nd for vehicles in the United States. The American video platform 'Crunchyroll,' part of Sony Group, has also decided to be integrated into the vehicle.

The joint venture between Honda and Sony was established in 2022, aiming to combine Honda's automotive manufacturing capabilities with Sony's software and entertainment expertise. The company plans to begin delivering its electric vehicles to North America in 2026. The company targets the launch of its first sedan in 2025, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in 2027, and an affordable compact sedan in 2028.

Sony Honda has unveiled an electric sedan named 'AFEELA,' expected to be the first model in 2025. As previously reported, the vehicle features a unique Media Bar at the front, which, in addition to displaying the car logo, can show various content, including charging progress. The vehicle will also support L2-level driving assistance for urban driving scenarios.
