Mercedes-Benz Teases Luxury Van Launch in Spring 2025, Showcases Electric Ambition with VAN.EA Platform
Mercedes-Benz released a teaser yesterday, announcing the launch of a luxury van in Spring 2025, based on the Van.EA dedicated electric vehicle platform, to create high-end luxury electric business and leisure vehicles, ushering in a new era in the van segment.
The transition from the engine compartment to the A-pillar of Mercedes-Benz's new electric Van is smooth, and the angle of inclination of the A-pillar is expected to be larger than the current V-class.
Mercedes-Benz is actively promoting its electrification strategy, and the VAN.EA platform is an important layout in the van segment, featuring modular and scalable design to flexibly adapt to vehicles of different sizes.
The platform includes three modules: the front module (motor and high-voltage electrical control hardware), the middle module (different lengths and battery configurations), and the rear module (rear axle, with options for four-wheel drive or front-wheel drive), which can achieve a greater degree of differentiation between luxury and commercial vehicles.
The Van.EA platform will also be used for the next generation of full-size Sprinter vans and may introduce a camping version.
