Hive Energy Launches the Blade Battery: 6C Charging Rate, 10% to 80% in Just 8.5 Minutes
On January 8th, Hive Energy unveiled several innovative products and technologies at their 'Battery Day' event, including the first off-road battery product — the world's largest capacity 59 kWh 800V hybrid battery, and the Blade Battery, which features 6C+800V supercharging and a lifespan of 15 years or 600,000 kilometers.
Here is a summary of the main information about the power batteries released:
It features horizontal 4-layer protection and vertical 8-layer protection, combined with the application of new materials such as micro-nano insulation, nano thermal porcelain insulation, and nano fireproof spray, achieving an ultra-wide temperature range of -43°C to 60°C. In extreme environments at -40°C, the discharge energy is increased by 50%, and low-temperature power is increased by 40%. The battery's pulse discharge power in extremely cold environments at -20°C is 5C.
This battery has been first equipped in the Tank 500 Hi4-Z, claimed to be the world's largest capacity 800V off-road plug-in hybrid battery pack, with a capacity of up to 59kWh.
It integrates technologies such as superconducting electrolyte, high-energy positive and negative electrode materials, composite separator materials, and thermal composite flying stack, with a 6C charging rate and an energy density of 185Wh/kg, requiring only 8.5 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% SOC (State of Charge).
The Blade Battery also adopts positive electrode interface protection technology, negative electrode dual-phase control technology, and 'high strength-interface self-healing' electrolyte, which can effectively control the consumption of active lithium, improve interface stability, and give the battery cells a cycle life of over 5000 cycles. With Hive Energy's intelligent control strategy, the Blade Battery has a super long service life of 15 years or 600,000 kilometers.
It includes long-life versions, fast-charging versions, and commercial passenger hybrid batteries. The long-life version has a single pack capacity of 95.7kWh, with a 3C charging rate, and provides an 8-year/1.5 million kilometer warranty life. The fast-charging version has a single pack capacity of 91.4kWh, with a more efficient 4C charging rate, and can complete charging from 10% to 80% SOC in just 14 minutes.
