BYD's November Sales Surpass 500,000 Units, 4.2 Million Annual Target in Sight
Despite fierce market competition, BYD has shown strong momentum in the new energy vehicle sector. As December begins, BYD has released its performance report for the previous month, with over 500,000 units sold in a single month, once again drawing attention. With only one month left in 2024, BYD's market performance this year has solidified its position as the annual sales champion among car manufacturers.
Interpretation and Analysis Series No. 255, this issue discusses BYD's market performance in November.
In terms of sales, BYD has significantly outperformed joint ventures like North and South Volkswagen, achieving over 500,000 units in monthly sales for two consecutive months. It is not an exaggeration to say that BYD's sales of over 1 million units in two months are comparable to or even surpass the annual total sales of many car companies, which is a source of pride for BYD and a domestic brand.
According to public sales data, BYD sold 506,804 units in November, setting a new record for monthly sales, with passenger car sales at 504,003 units, a year-on-year increase of 67.2%. From January to November, BYD's cumulative sales reached 3,740,930 units. If the current momentum continues, it should not be difficult for BYD to exceed an annual total of 4.2 million units in 2024.
Breaking down the sales by brand in November, BYD's Dynasty Network/Ocean Network cumulative sales reached 485,178 units, a year-on-year increase of 68.2%; Equation Leopard Automobiles sold 8,521 units, setting a new monthly sales record; Tengshi Automobiles sold 10,002 units; and Yangwang Automobiles sold 302 units. Additionally, BYD's overseas exports in November were 30,977 units.
As BYD's hot-selling models, whether it's the Han family, Yuan family, Qin family, Song family, or the Seagull and Sea Lion series, they all have a significant impact and appeal in their respective market segments, with market heat that many competitors envy. For example, the Qin L, although not long on the market, has become a disruptor in the mid-size sedan segment.
As the mainstay of Denza Automobiles' sales, Denza D9, which has established a foothold in the mid-to-high-end MPV market, has seen its market heat remain despite competition from Toyota's Sienna and Granvia. With a cumulative sales of 92,945 units from January to November, it is almost certain to lead the annual sales in the mid-to-high-end MPV segment.
Fangchengbao Automobiles, with a limited product lineup, has seen its first model, the Fangchengbao 5, achieve consecutive monthly sales records after an official price reduction, with November sales reaching 8,521 units, becoming a disruptor in the "boxy" car segment.
From a young poplar to a towering tree, BYD, now thirty years old, has started a new journey from the starting line of 10 million units, accompanied by technological and product iterations and upgrades. BYD is expected to reach new sales peaks, but in the fiercely competitive market, the higher BYD's sales, the greater the pressure, as competitors are also starting to focus on the new energy track.
BYD, which has achieved over 500,000 units in monthly sales for two consecutive months, is expected to surprise us in December as well. Judging from BYD's cumulative sales this year, it should not be difficult to exceed an annual total of 4.2 million units in 2024. What do you think?
