The two new vehicles feature smooth lines, showcasing a stretched and grand style, adopting a completely new design language compared to the current Han and Tang family models. However, they still retain the family design 'Dragon Face' on the front face and other parts. The official statement claims that both vehicles embody the 'Eastern charm of the Chinese dragon', with a design philosophy of 'drawing the dragon to take its form, and dotting the eyes to bring it to life'.

Based on previous leaks, the Han L and Tang L will be equipped with curved + two-point LED daytime running lights and tail lights in the shape of a Chinese knot, which are expected to feature a through-design. The size of the new vehicles is expected to be larger than the current BYD Han and Tang models, and they will also have better aerodynamic performance.

At present, the official release date for the new vehicles has not been disclosed yet.

The BYD brand distinguishes their passenger car line-up under three "series", namely the Dynasty series (started by the BYD Qin in 2012), a line of higher-end vehicles with "dragon-inspired" designs aimed at the traditional mass markets; the Ocean series (started by the BYD Dolphin in 2021), a line of "ocean-themed" vehicles based on new aesthetic designs by Wolfgang Egger and the modular "e-Platform 3.0", aimed at younger buyers; and the "e" series, a line of fleet vehicles oriented at commercial sales such as ride-hailing and taxi.[5] The Ocean series is further divided into two series, namely battery vehicles named after marine animals (Seagull, Dolphin, Seal and Sea Lion) and plug-in hybrids named after naval ships (Frigate and Destroyer).Dynasty and Ocean series are offered through separate sales network, namely the Dynasty Network and the Ocean Network, and uses separate mobile apps for telematics.
